How did you start on your spiritual path?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for October 15, 2008:
I think coming out of the woods where it's silent except for the sounds of nature (fall leaves, babbling brook, etc) makes one reflective. There were no immediate neighbors and my siblings were much older and at school; so, I was with myself (well, and my imaginary friend). One's mind expands so in such a space. One feels vast and connected. That kind of experience probably led to my early childhood contemplations about being in a shell of flesh. It seemed so limited and unnatural and...odd. But, yeah, who are ya gonna tell that to, the other 5 year olds? Ah, but it's cool; I just had to walk my path and they theirs.

That photo looks like my childhood, and your words feel so, so familiar.
If I had met you when I was five we could have had one heck of a meaningful conversation. Can you imagine????
We'll just need to wait for the next time around, then…. ;)
So looking forward to it! Until then fly high and free my sister.
just stepped back to those magic days of summer on my grandparents land in maine. i was never alone though, their boxer dog always spent those endless days in the woods with me, always by my side.
some of my best moments that have become sacred memories. thank you for bringing me back there for a while!
Ah, but as Richard Bach said, “beyond time, we are all one.” However, that would have been interesting! Another 5-year old on the fringe. Maybe there's a reason that we were all spread out among the…”others.” I don't know what it is though!
It's a noteworthy question: What happens when you get a handful of “tweaked” kids together? What kind of activities would they come up with? Before I left grade school (can't remember the exact age), I was on the mailing lists of the Humanist Society and the Rosicrucians. I contacted them.
Ohmsmommy! Dogs are a secret prayer, divinely panting & tail-swishing tobacco bundles swirling and channeling the earth energy, infusing it with power until it radiantly explodes — saturating everything with unkempt glee!
