Naked Tea Welcome Lounge - bring your cup!

Posted on Aug 27th, 2008 by scribe sky : Hemet Neter scribe sky
Ok, you tea-lovers, as requested, I'll host the first meeting of the Naked Tea Society ~ it's rainy and cool and night is falling at longitude 77 west. Here's the ambiance, play the song and read on:

Let the day's issues slide to the floor with your dresses and jeans....it's Tea Time! Go get your cup and none of that "tea bag" stuff: Camellia S. wants to be unconstrained so she can stretch out and reveal her full-bodied flavors and aromas......me? I like her steamed, lightly fermented and rolled in jasmine; but, you tell me...how do you like it?

yes, it was nightfall here; so, I thought a little slow psychedelica was in order to help you drift off. Jasmine Green tea really is my favorite.

Scribe, you're filling a much needed niche here. There have been a number of non-coffee drinkers who still wanted naked commaraderie without the caffeine jitters. (Me, I think the jitters are just part of the fun and they give me an excuse for typos- hehe).

I get that Tea itself is naked too, i.e. the no bag thingy!  We'll have to have some co-meetings with the Naked Coffee Club.

I’ll go for Jasmine green–iced in summer! But not first thing in the morning. Tea just doesn’t taste right to me in the morning. So now we have a reason to be naked in the afternoon too!

white tea w/ raspberry? that sounds good. i always love cinnamon. there are these new teabags that are shaped like pyramids so the tea leaves can unfurl as they should (i haven't tried them yet).

carla, jasmine iced-tea is also good with blueberries/blueberry juice!

Are bi drinkers allowed here?

I really love my coffee, yet I drink tea, orange, raspberry, chai, apple…and other luscious flavors during my work sessions.

I also make my own kombucha tea. And I love to drink Long Island iced tea when I am laid out like a lettuce leaf by the ocean under the warm Sun.

you can trans-juice if you like because we should be creative with our experiences, yes?

…and bi-drinkers are totally welcome in the lounge, bliss faerie. i find that twig tea (kukicha), lightly roasted, kind of reminds me of coffee. i love the roasty smell.

and, elisa, i think all tea leaves, in steamy waters, like to “unfurl” ~

yes, i'd love to see a picture of  the herb.

so, for you, B: here's hein bratt (i like his voice; i love his version of the gayatri mantra) singing the markandeya/maha mrityunjaya mantra. it's a healing mantra since this is your second wellness day because, as thomas ferrand said, “where there is spiritual light, there can be no disease.”

ah, I've heard of lemon verbena. i've never made a tea of it. i did make sun tea out of dandelions and lemon balm in the back yard. it's been fabulous enjoying one of the most popular nectars on earth, au naturel, with you all!

Ah, so this isn't the come-wearing-a-bathrobe-and-then-fold-it-up-as-something-so-sit-on-while-carefully-sipping-hot-cups-of-herbal-bliss lounge?  Just cooked leaves in boiling water?  Ah well; nice either way.  I'm sure something fresh for the garden wouldn't have lost its flavor in transport.
Besides, who would want to risk sloshing some steaming sandalwood chai (the BEST KIND EVER) in their laps?  Yowchthatwouldruinamorning.  No more comment on that.  Stay thirsty my friends, y'hear?  You're guarding the sacred realm of homemade beverages free of artificial whatsit.  it's a great cause.  And, nudity is underated.  Now I'm done.

LOL……..you are funny Abe, usually I am too, come again soon.

I am drinking a cup of grape “tea” right now. Was doing the chai tea at work. Time to shuck off the work clothes, have a couple of spoonfuls of organic nut butter, do some cottage work, have my home made kombucha tea, and off to hot yoga.

Awesome, B!  I'll hunt the web for said funny stuff.  I understand if you're out of the zone.
I totally agree, Scribe's music is dreamy.  I felt my whole metabolism slow a bit.
But– and this is for Scribe and anyone else– how clad is this group supposed to be?  Currently I'm glad this is all written and not a Naked Tea Lovers Webcam Webinar Seminar… thing.

yes ABE, i'm out of the zone, unfortunatelly, I mean it takes me more time to get the real meaning. of some expressions, there is even some people i can't understand a word from them, it all depens on how far is their English from the standard one, but i love learning, really, and hope thiis will not make anyone  to consider me a strange or something, i wanna believe we are all living and sharing the same world, our common mother earth.

Good morning everybod, I have just woke up, going to check the disasters you made when I was sleeping.
See you all later….XOXO

hey, y'all…and, hey, abe! glad you made it…and you can wear whatever you like.

i don't think i've had grape “tea,” faerie…or sandalwood chai, abe.

mmmmmmm….i love sandalwood as a fragrance (especially with male biochemistry; i think it's a better base note than amber). but, as a chai?

do tell how to prepare it!

yes, tell how do you prepare your teas. my favourite is Chai,

Well, I'm typing this with all the usual garb on; I wait until at least the third date to change that.  At least.  (Thus far I haven't had many dates.  Lovers and relationships, but no dates.)
I've only had one good glass of chai since I returned from India almost a year and a half ago, and it wasn't at Starbucks.  (that one tasted like foam with somehow-modified water beneath it.)  Salim, an engineer working near my house, passed on to me that the reason we can't make it right here is because the recipes in India use different water and milk.  American milk is, by regulation, so homogenized and modified that it loses the good ol' boiled flavor.  The tea leaves are the same.

Sandalwood: incredibly powerful.  Sprinkle a smidgen of the brown powder in, and the otherwise calming (but piping hot) chai glass is instantly alive.  The flavor is amazing.  Male biochemistry?  Meaning if I swish sandalwood chai in my mouth in the morning any women within range of my breath will fall under my spell?  That's a scary amount of power.  (I exaggerate; it probably just smells nice. I wouldn't want a spell anyway.)

Still pondering the dangers of drinking steaming hot water over an unprotected lap.  Eegh.  I'd want to lean a lot or sit sideways.

Oh, I can get raw milk; I just don't like cow or goat milk unless it's in cheese form. I usually make almond milk for my chai (much easier to make nutmilks with the invention of the Magic Bullet). I'm going to try the sandalwood powder recipe (this weekend, I think).

I don't know about sandalwood mouthwash; but, on the skin, it smells as amazing as you say it tastes. Ah, and it's usually the Indian guys that smell like sandalwood (maybe it's just a permeation of all that delicious chai into the dermis).

Hey, what's this about having lovers but no dates? How do you incorporate time to find out what kind of chi a potential lover is wielding? Or, maybe, you only need to know what kind of tea he or she drinks…

Abe : Purveyor of Accidental Kernels of Wisdom

I suppose you could make tea with… cheese… assuming it was something with a low melt temperature, and the boiling water would certainly help.  You'd need to drink it fast before it cooled.  And when I said 'raw milk,' I specifically meant 'from quadrupeds'– sorry, vegans, you may never taste true chai.Magic Bullet?
That sounds cool.  I'm keeping my eye out for the stuff now, but I wish I could use it at the end of the day before I shower it off.  Y'know, brush it off into the tea.  Without it stinking.
I stopped dating after watching Raiders of the Lost Ark– those bad dates poisoned that poor monkey.  But I usually date my lovers unofficially.  An encounter can be a date, if orchestrated the right way.  And meeting people is how you get in tune with them, what they feel like, what they need in a person.  I suppose that isn't about tea anymore.  What she drinks is a factor if you want to surprise her by brewing her favorite, or better yet, growing it from scratch.

Yeah, you know, the Magic Bullet! Great personal blender. I've used it to grind coffee, too (for other people. I don't drink coffee; but, I like its smell).

Cheese? hmmm…I didn't mention the yak-butter tea? Ok, technically, it would be dree butter (the yak is the male); but, “yak” just gives it the right…feel. Not quite cheese, but close! Churning & churning….to get that creamy light green color of tea mixed with butter…apparently, a very popular tea in Bhutan. And, yep, it's served warmed.

You might want to try sandalwood essential oil for the body (instead of powder – maybe mix it with some jojoba oil). Don't get a synthetic oil; they smell icky!

So you have found the Magic Bullet to be a worthwhile investment? I always wondered about it when I saw them on TV.

Yeah, tv ads are suspect; but, it's GREAT! I use it all the time! I can make an acai smoothie (in the mug that it will be served in) in the morning in no time and take it with me; I love making fresh pesto in it (yummy!), live apple sauce, watermelon/cantelope juice, and making nutmilks is so much easier.

Aha! In fact, the other day, I made one of my favorite tropical tea drinks in it: steeped & cooled green tea, a couple of chunks of pineapple, a drop of both almond & coconut extract & organic sugar. Whizz it around for a couple of seconds and voila! Delicious over ice!

A self-blending cup?  Fancy.  Yak (dree) butter tea?  Interesting.  And I would never settle for less than real sandalwood, unless I was going to the Charity ball for the Olfactory-Impaired so as not to have the difference be noticeable.
Ironic; I had a coconut-and-pineapple whatsamacallit drink today– the slush melted fast, so essentially I was drinking pure cool-watery sleet.

In any case, the tea-talk is now over my head.  Great talking to you guys for a week!  I'll see y'all later.
