What were you thinking about last night?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for August 26, 2008:

That I was glad to be home after a month of traveling about and soaking in the summer. It was fun; but, there's no place like home!

Odwalla bars. Hehe.

Welcome back… though which character are you really? I thought it was one of the wicked witches who was the sky writer! (But I'd surrender to you any day. :)

Hey, Yogi -J & Siona!

'tis true: I'm more witch than dorothy (although I might be more from The Mists of Avalon).

I've been gone from the July 23rd blog post to the ”Surf's Up” one below (gotta love tech!). I've been in the backwoods of Amish country, livin' weird, dog-sitting a thunder-phobic pooch, feeding trout in a creek, listening to a lot of folk music, farm-hoppin' and eating local fare (Millheim folks CANNOT make french fries!). And they drink something called a shrub that is really different fruit juices mixed with vinegar…to non-locals, it's like drinking raspberry vinegrette (to quote Henry Rollins & Capt. Kirk, ”I can't get behind that.”).
Everyone was great, though (hey, did ya know that some upper-caste Amish get around the idea of no phone by putting a phone booth way on the far edge of their property? It looks like a wooden out-house, but with phone wires are attached to it).

Finally, as you can see from the Surf's Up blog, I ended the summer at the East Coast Surfing Championships. I LOVED being on the beach! The mornings were so beautiful! And night-wading in the ocean rocks, too!
